Monday May 29 Memorial Day: The Conlon-Mulvaney American Legion Post # 1779 would like to invite the community to join us in remembering our fallen comrades on Monday Morning, May 29th. 

The Memorial Day event in Conesus has always been extremely well attended and a thoroughly enjoyed community effort that is continuously made successful through the participation of our own Conesus residents and many visitors. 

 Please come and enjoy the day and please keep in mind the true meaning of Memorial Day, the day that we honor our men and woman who sacrificed their lives in the service of our Country.

 

The day's events (rain or shine) are:

 

730 AM: Legionnaires, SAL and volunteers meet at Post 1779 to conduct Memorial Day Service at:      
  • Union Cemetery on West Swamp Road
  • Alger Cemetery on Rowland Road
  • McMillan Cemetery on Conesus Springwater Road. 

 

9:30 AM: Conesus United Church Bake Sale in front of the Church in the hamlet. (Folks - these are some of the tastiest treats in town!!!) 

 

10:00 AM: Memorial Day Service at the Conesus Town Hall. Guest speaker to be announced and the Conesus Community Choir will again bless us with their fantastic collection of beautifully presented patriotic music. 

                 Choir Volunteers welcome: Volunteers to sing with the Community Choir are more than welcome. Contact Barb Stewart or arrive at the Town Hall 30 minutes or so early.  

  

11:00 AM: Parade, from Conesus Town Hall to Arnold Cemetery on Elm Street. Anyone wishing to be a part of the parade is welcome. A representative from the Legion Auxiliary will help with lining up the participants. 

 

Noon or Immediately following the parade the Auxiliary members will a host a picnic lunch open the public at the Legion Post.  

 

3:00 PM - Till: The Sons of the American Legion will serve hot dogs , burgers and other refreshments and will host a band.   This event is open to the public.
