Grant Status Report: Supervisor Donohue
  • Supervisor Donohue has submitted a grant to the Greater Rochester Health Foundation for five pieces of youth equipment for Ricky Greene Memorial Park totaling $19,979.   This is essentially the same equipment that we submitted for approval in the 2016 grant cycle. The grant requires no town matching funds.
 Zoning  Issues:

Unfinished Business:

New Business:

  • Discussion of Clean Energy Communities designation for the Town of Conesus.  Local governments must complete 4 of the 10 High Impact Actions to earn a Clean Energy Communities designation and qualify to apply for no match grant funding. The grant is structured such that the first 4 qualified as CEC will be awarded $100,000.  The next 10 to qualify receive $50,000.  This amount is for small communities under 39,999 population in the Greater Finger Lakes Region. I believe there are 190 towns and villages eligible to compete for these grants in this region.  The three easy High Impact Actions to achieve are: Benchmarking:
  1. Adopt a policy to report energy use of municipal buildings
  2. Adopt the Unified Solar Permit which streamlines the approval process for solar installations
  3. Energy Code Enforcement Training will  train code officers in energy code best practices. NYSERDA is paying the CEOís to attend the training.
There are 6 other High Impact Actions to take which are harder to achieve. They are: clean energy upgrades, LED street lights, clean fleets, a local solarize campaign, climate smart communities certification, and community choice aggregation.

Comments are welcome at this time.
